Gartree High School is delighted to be sharing a magnificent set of GCSE results with our students today. This is Gartree’s first set of GCSE results, and members of staff could not be more proud of our students. The Governors and Senior Leadership Team would like to put on record their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Gartree High School who have worked tirelessly to encourage our young people to make the very best of themselves. The very best rewards, though, are the looks of joy in the faces of our students.
Gartree’s first GCSE cohort exceeded the school’s high expectations, with a number of outstanding performances catching the eye.
First of these were Isha and Shazia (pictured), who each achieved an incredible eight of the top level grade 9s.
Also pictured are Head Boy George and Head Girl Aqueelah, who between them achieved one Grade 9, three Grade 8s, six Grade 7s and eight Grade 6s.
George scored a 9 in English Language, with 8s in English Literature, Film Studies, History and PE.
Aqueelah scored 6 or above in all her subjects. “I was shaking when I opened my envelope,” she told us.
Joanna achieved an amazing set of results – three Grade 9s, five Grade 8s, and two Grade 7s.
Mansing was delighted to achieve two Grade 9s, three Grade 8s, four Grade 7s and a Merit in Creative Media. Well done, Mansing.
Another high-performing boy was Devarsh, with a level 9, three level 8s and 5 level 7s. “I’m really happy,” he told us. “I can’t believe it!”
“It’s great to see so many smiling faces,” said one parent.
Another said, “She just wanted to come to a school where she could study well and learn. She’s worked hard but the support of the teachers has been amazing.”
Several students left thank you messages for staff. “Thank you for teaching me for five years and helping me pass. I am so thankful for all you did to help me,” was one such message. Another read, “to all the KS4 Gartree staff, thank you for all the support and help you gave me over the past two years. You have been amazing. I don’t believe I could have come through all this without you. Thanks for all your hard work and for making me want to work hard.” There were other personal messages for individual members of staff.
There was a big turnout of staff to chat with students about their results and to offer advice and encouragement.
Members of staff are immensely proud of our Year 11 students. They have worked incredibly hard to get these tremendous results and now are perfectly placed to follow their dreams and aspirations. We wish them every success in the future, whatever they choose to do. Staff would also like to thank parents and carers of our Year 11 students. Without their steadfast support of the school and guidance of their children, we know these amazing results would have been impossible.
