For the academic year 2018/19 Gartree High School will be setting an operational planned admission number of 100 for Year 10
An Open Evening is held in the Autumn term of each academic year, prior to the application deadline of 31st October.
Each year we admit 155 students into Year 7.
Applications should be made to Leicestershire County Council by the end of October for a place in the Autumn term of the following year.

- 31st October – Deadline for receipt of Common Application Form at your Local Authority
- 1st March – National offer day and Appeals information available

Criteria used for prioritising admissions to Gartree High School
For entry to Gartree for 2017/2018 we have adopted the local authority admissions policy with amendments (see policy and amendments below).
If there are too many requests, priority will be given to children in the appropriate age-range, whose parents applied on time, in the following order:
|1st||Children who are in public care and those children who were previously looked after children (see note ii)|
|2nd||Pupils who live in the catchment area (see note iii)|
|3rd||Pupils who will have an older brother or sister attending the same school at the same time (see note iv)|
|4th||Pupils who have attended a county feeder school for at least two years before the time of transfer|
|5th||Pupils who have attended a city feeder school for at least two years before the time of transfer|
|6th||Pupils who have a serious medical condition or exceptional social or domestic needs that make it essential they attend the school requested. (Professional documentation confirming the situation must be submitted with the application). (see note v)|
|7th||Pupils living nearest to the school measured in a straight line distance (home to school gate) (see note vii)|
